The Nigerian military has lost one senior military officer (reportedly a Colonel) and two soldiers. Brigadier General Benard Onyeuko, Acting Director, Defence Media Operations, said this in a statement made available on Friday. He recalled that on Thursday, troops on a clearance operation against criminals across the North-West zone got information on bandits’ attack in Unguwar Doka village, Faskari LGA of Kastina State. The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has said his Edo state counterpart, Godwin Obaseki, will not leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), after winning a second term in the governorship election held last Saturday. Femi Fani-Kayode, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has condemned the suspension of Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi on Friday. Fayemi was suspended by the State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for ‘numerous anti-party activities. The party had in a statement claimed that Fayemi hosted a bigwig of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Femi Fani-Kayode, five days before the Edo Election, during which they planned a coup against Edo APC. Two Nigerians were, on Thursday, arrested by Anti-narcotics police in Ho Chi Minh City, for trafficking methamphetamine. The Abia State Government has announced reopening of primary and secondary schools in the State on Monday, 28th September, 2020, to complete the 3rd term of 2019/2020 academic session with one week of revision classes. This was announced in a statement signed by the State Commissioner for Information, John Okiyi Kalu, after the State Executive Council Meeting held at the Banquet hall of Government House, Umuahia, Thursday.
