The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has said his Edo state counterpart, Godwin Obaseki, will not leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), after winning a second term in the governorship election held last Saturday. Obaseki defeated Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the polls with a margin of 84,336 votes. Four years ago, Obaseki had contested under the platform of the APC, while Ize-Iyamu ran under the PDP. Femi Fani-Kayode, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has condemned the suspension of Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi on Friday. Fayemi was suspended by the State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for ‘numerous anti-party activities. The party had in a statement claimed that Fayemi hosted a bigwig of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Femi Fani-Kayode, five days before the Edo Election, during which they planned a coup against Edo APC. APC suspends Gov Kayode Fayemi from party

The Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has been suspended by the State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
